Copper Penny Hakes died on Thursday May 26th, 2016 at her home. Copper is survived by her pack Cosmo, Collie and Roscoe. She leaves behind her human dad, mom and siblings. What could I ever say that would come close to the respect and admiration you deserve? You were our first four legged family member. We searched high and low for a sweet dachshund with spots, and we found you. You brought joy to us every day for 16 years and we had so many grand adventures with you. You loved the beach, and traveling with your pal Cosmo. You would sneak food when you thought no one was watching and made us laugh with your super sniffer. Remembering your little crooked run, and your army crawl make us smile. You were a small girl with a larger than life personality, and everyone who met you smiled. Other dogs respected you, and you never met a stranger. Because of you, we opened our hearts and our home to so many foster dachshunds and because of you they found their families. We can never express how much joy and love you brought us. We are overwhelmed by sadness and grief at your passing, we will never forget you Beans. We will meet you again at the Rainbow Bridge....we'll bring the Reese Cups.
